Cumberland Trail

Get to know the...

The Cumberland Trail became a state trail in 1971 and later a state park in 1998. It is over 300 miles in Length going from Cumberland Gap National park to Chattanooga along the Cumberland Plateau. Right now 2/3rds of the trail has been finished and the rest is being built with a few road walks and gaps here and there. The state park and the trail need our help. Our help to help build and close the gaps as well as to help keep what is built cleared. Really it needs foot traffic. A lot of the trail is somewhat remote as compared to big cities and towns. That is the beauty of it. It goes into gorges, along creeks, over creeks and over mountains. So many people have come together to make the vision of this trail a reality. Currently they are so close to it being complete!
