Grayson Highlands State Park at Massie Gap trailhead.
All paces welcome! We will have a mid pack pace group being led We are going to have everyone go their own pace and go out and hour then come back for 2 hours round trip. You can run, hike walk, etc. The point is to go run around and have fun and come back after 2 hours. Likely going 8-13 miles round trip on the Appalachian Trail. This route is an out and back so you can always make your run longer if you like!
You do not need to be signed up for the race. Just come have fun with us! We’ll take photos, talk story and have a great day!
Please note there will be an entry fee to get into the park. It is usually $10 per vehicle on weekends. Try to bring exact change.
Pre and post run our Race director, Sean Blanton and Paul Tilley (its his b day) will be answering any and all questions related to trail and ultra running / the Grayson Highlands race.
That night we will be in Galax, Virginia at the Creek Bottom Brewery starting at 5:30 pm to see all y’all people for food n beer if you like. We will also be celebrating Paul Tilley’s birthday! After party / campfire at Froggy Mountain adventures owned by Paul Tilley, friend and fellow ultra runner.
